In all of my training years, I have been asked (more times than I count) about "secret fitness weapons". Everyone wants to know the key to success. Is it a special supplement? What about "fat burning" workouts? How long should I workout? How often? When should I eat? What should I drink? WHAT'S THE KEY"?
Are you ready for the answer? Listen carefully...
Move. That's it: Move.
I often tell my clients, " You grew your body. You should be able to lift it, bend it, turn it, jump it, walk it, run it, dance it. You should be able to move it."
Fitness is not only about "looking good". It is about being able to readily handle the rigors of daily life. If you focus on moving your body, everything else falls in line. You can't expect your body to move if you don't fuel it. And you need the correct fuel. Diets high in fats and sugars don't provide the fuel your body needs. If you don't eat right, you won't be able to move. Diet and exercise go hand in hand. If your body is stressed and tired, it won't move. Proper rest, hydration and stress management are keys to movement as well.
