Hi -
Just found the site today while trying to search for Step DVDs' - this is soooo much better than having to pay up to £20 just for ONE dvd!
I really need to get fit and loose some weight - have put loads on in the last few years and the thought of turning up at classes in the 'baggy t'shirt' is unthinkable!! Now I can go mad in privacey!!!
Is anyone else from the UK?
Jill
Hi Jill -
Welcome to demandFITNESS! We hope you will find everything you need here. If you have suggestions, be sure to post the for us here in the community!
Hi Jill,
I'm from the UK too and found demand fitness over a month ago - it's fantastic!
I have a very busy and stressful job and find it hard to find time to go to the gym - this is perfect for me - I can workout and take part in any class I want to fit into my lifestyle - if I only have 20 minutes - the 5 minute series is excellent, if I want to workout hard on a Sunday I can work, it's perfect, I've been looking for a site like this for ages. I'm getting married in September so I have heaps of motivation anyway, but I find I don't need it, I have no excuse because with this site there is always time to do something in my own home.
THe value is great - I signed up for six months which is $60, with the pound strong against the dollar, this works out at 30 quid - a fiver a month! It's an absolute bargain. I had a fitness ball and some handweights already, so far I haven't had to purchase any additional equipment as there are so many classes that use these two items.
I can also save the classes to a memory stick and use them when I visit my mum!
Good luck - here's to losing weight really easily - I've lost 8lbs in 3 weeks - I'm thrilled!!!
Louise
Louise - That is pretty cool. Always nice to be able to take the workouts with you. Your memory stick idea made me also think about being able to play videos on an XBOX 360 by using a USB memory stick with videos saved to it. Have you ever tried that? I think the only thing is that you would need an internet connection on the XBOX to validate the license on the downloaded videos. And, of course, you would need an XBOX360... wonder if anyone has tried that?
I live in the US, so not getting the currency exchange discount yet...but do enjoy the workouts in any case. Great thoughts. Thanks, John
Hi. I live in the UK too.
Hey Louise - Been almost another month...how's the weight loss coming. Getting ready for the wedding? I think the trainer, Joanne Blackerby, is getting ready to start some series to help cross motivate people with similar goals. Maybe she can do one of those Bridal Bootcamps? Good luck with everything.
John
Hi John,
Thanks. Yeah everything is going really well. I've now lost 20lbs in total!!! And it's been relatively easy as I'm enjoying it, rather than it being tedious like going to the gym!
I've advanced to some much tougher classes, and I'm really enjoying them.
I'm having my wedding dress fitting tomorrow which is so exciting! So they're going to have to do some serious alterations to accommodate my slimmer physique! My friend actually put on weight and had to have hers let out, not the way forward!
I've never heard of a bridal bootcamp, I can just imagine though, sounds painful!!
Summer has finally arrived in England which also helps, eating plenty of salads and taking the dog on country walks which is great.
Hope you're doing okay too!
Best wishes
